FMP Woodcraft is a custom woodworking business based in Oak Park, Illinois, creating handcrafted doors, windows, cabinets, furniture, built-ins, and small-batch wood goods. The business was founded by Frank, whose passion for woodcraft began early while working alongside his grandfather in his shop. What started as a hands-on childhood interest grew into a lifelong craft.

Frank went on to study ichthyology in college and spent 27 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, continuing to build, design, and refine his woodworking skills as a side passion. After retiring from the Army Corps in 2025, he launched FMP Woodcraft to pursue woodworking full time and bring the same patience, precision, and respect for materials to every project.

Frank is passionate about creating pieces that honor the wood they are made from and the homes they become part of. His work is rooted in high-quality craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and the belief that custom woodwork should be built to last — not just for years, but for generations. These are not contractor-grade doors, windows, or cabinets from a big-box store. Each piece is intentionally made, carefully finished, and designed to feel like it belongs.

Our process is collaborative and straightforward. It begins with a consultation to understand your project, space, goals, timing, and budget. From there, Frank develops a design direction and estimate for review. Once the scope is agreed upon, a 50% deposit secures the project and allows work to begin. The remaining 50% is due at completion, before pickup, delivery, or installation coordination.

From the first conversation to the final finish, the goal is to keep the process clear, honest, and practical. FMP Woodcraft creates heirloom-quality pieces that solve a need, add character, and respect both the material and the space they are made for.
